Wolfram Alpha - Use It To Believe It

I’m a sucker for sites that make my life easy. I want to compare two companies that I believe are going to do well, I need to decide which one to invest in. So I pull up http://wolframalpha.com/ and type in POT MON. Only their symbols, I can type in the full name if I want, but this is easier. Hit = and then WOWWWW. Check out the screengrabs to see what I’m talking about. And that’s just for finance. There’s plenty more for you to play around with.

President Obama

If you watched the inspiring ceremony for President Obama, I'm sure you're feeling something. Change perhaps? Well, time will tell, and I suppose a baptism of fire will take place. I wish this 44th President the best for his tenure, that America may regain its leadership and respect from all nations.

And as we have stepped into 2009, I wish YOU a prosperous, memorable and of course happy year ahead! Why now, well, maybe things will not be the same. Leadership can change the course of history. God favours the righteous... so may the leaders rule righteously and justly.

I'll be sharing with you my progress as well on a nomadic, knowledge worker lifestyle. How I've organized my digital life and how its' helping me achieve more, by doing less and less. How a system has helped me manage my own life like a Business Inc.

Talking about Business Inc, this year you'll probably hear a lot of blogs talking about frugality, simplicity and the basics. One book which I'm currently reading is Your Money or Your Life and one thing I can tell you, is that you should read it if you really want to prepare yourself for 2009 - yes prepare for it to be a success!

Living In THE CLOUD

Cloud computing has become a hot term these days, with the onslaught of NetBooks - people are accepting the concept of Information/Software/Apps as a Service (SAAS, IAAS, AAS). I've been talking about this for a long time, actually it was Larry Elison of Oracle who talked about this first - he used the term, Dumb Terminals. Bill Gates certainly rubbed it off. But today, If we have enough computing power and bandwidth - we can easily live the Cloud Lifestyle.

I've recently purchased the MacBook Air (after switching a year ago to Mac) - and I'm reorganizing my life around this. This means simplifying a lot of things. Chucking out apps that I don't need, reorganizing my desktop (real one). Decluttering and eliminating stuff, applications, subscriptions etc is essential to this.

Furthermore, I'm also learning alot from experts like Steve Rubel of Micropersuasion.com and building my own knowledgebase of cloud computing, living a nomadic life (at avcion.pbwiki.com). One thing I've learn from my previous consulting profession, was that you should be very familiar with your tools if you really want to use them efficiently.

To end this, I'm adding a photo on Steve Jobs, yes life was simpler - it still can be!:

CAPTION FOR PHOTO

"This was a very typical time. I was single. All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that's what I had."..... Steve Jobs.
